I started my professional career in Edinburgh where I studied classical ballet at the Academy of Ballet under the Principles Jack Spurgeon and Joan Tucker. I then went on to dance professionally worldwide and extensively in the UK in theatre and television.
A dancer’s career is a short one and at the age of 29 I started to think about my future. The Callanetics method was always with me even during my classical training. This was in the 1980's when Callan was a household name and Callanetics was at the top of the fitness charts. I decided to train as a Callanetics teacher. This was a natural transition for me because the Callanetics exercises were all based on Classical ballet positions. At that point, I bought the franchise for Edinburgh opening my current Callanetics studio in 1995.
